The PowerPoint presents three American cities with which I was most familiar at the time—Washington, D.C., Charlotte, and Salt Lake City—to lead the class in a discussion on cities and urbanism in the U.S. The closing portion of the presentation focuses on two issues the Dutch students in the class wanted to discuss: gun violence and the role of patriotism in building a national identity and community in the United States.
