In addition to my goal to ride at least a portion of every rail system in the United States and Canada, since I live in New York City I’ve made it a goal to ride every mile of passenger rail currently in regular service in this region—1,379.9 miles (2,220.7 kilometers) in all. That includes the entire rail networks operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, New Jersey Transit, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Read the blog post where I announced my goal.

On this page I’m tracking my progress, and I’m inviting you along for the ride. I’ve finished riding lines or systems that are crossed out.
